2:1 And I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2:2 Then I said, Where are you going? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width, and what is its length.
2:3 And, look, the angel who talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
2:4 and said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, by reason of the multitude of man and cattle in her.
2:5 For I, says Yahweh, will be to her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.
2:6 Ho, ho, flee from the land of the north, says Yahweh; for I have spread you+ abroad as the four winds of the heavens, says Yahweh.
2:7 Ho Zion, escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.
2:8 For this is what Yahweh of Hosts says: After glory he has sent me to the nations which plundered you+; for he who touches you+ touches the apple of my eye.
2:9 For, look, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a spoil to their slaves; and you+ will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me.
2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, look, I come, and I will stay in the midst of you, says Yahweh.
2:11 And many nations will join themselves to Yahweh in that day, and will be my people; and I will stay in the midst of you, and you will know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you.
2:12 And Yahweh will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will yet choose Jerusalem.
2:13 Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh; for he has awakened out of his holy habitation.
